The problem is that you cannot protect a protected sheet. So once you use:
ActiveSheet.protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True then the line: Activesheet.protect Password:="deck" does NOTHING, because the sheet is already protected! you need to combine the two lines: ActiveSheet.protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True, Password:="deck" or: ActiveSheet.protect _ DrawingObjects:=True, _ Contents:=True, _ Scenarios:=True, _ Password:="deck" Paul ----------------------------------------- “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” - John Wesley ----------------------------------------- From: dza49 <dvpe...@gmail.com> >To: excel-macros@googlegroups.com >Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2015 12:32 PM >Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Excel Macro to Protect Sheet - password application >not working > > > >Hello, > >i'm having trouble with a macro that i've sent up to: >1) unprotect a sheet with a password >2) do some filtering and set a print area >3) apply the password again > >Looks like steps 1 and 2 are working fine but step 3 isn't working.
