Thanks Paul. I am getting the idea but the exact code to achieve this i don't know. Reading from left to right if the two concatenated strings match the first five (5) characters then they are similar. But another challenge here is in a particular column the order of names are not the same e.g first name, middle name and last name additionally some of the names are abbreviated . -- Are you =EXP(E:RT) or =NOT(EXP(E:RT)) in Excel?
