*Description: * * * A highly motivated System Administrator with *8+ years of experience*should have the following skills: Expert applied knowledge of Intel Operating System and protocols such as system commands, admin menus, and file structures. Expert on Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 Expert applied knowledge of Virtualization: VMWare ESX, ESXi, vSphere, VMWare View, vCenter, VMConverter, Microsoft Hyper-V, XEN Hypervisor Expert applied knowledge of storage: NetApp, EMC, EqualLogic, Openfiler, NAS, SAN, iSCSI Expert applied knowledge of remote applications: Citrix, VNC Viewer, RDS, Microsoft RemoteApp, VMware ThinApp Expert applied knowledge of communications such as TCP/IP, FTP, NFS and/or SNA. Expert applied knowledge of network and server security protocols, operation and administration. Advance applied knowledge of applicable scripting language (shell, CL, etc.). The ability to read, comprehend, develop, and debug complex scripts. Application programming experience desired but is not required. Hours: must be able to work any of various shifts as needed to support off-prime system implementations and/or outage recoveries. Manages and leads the gathering of information, diagnosing, analyzing, documenting and troubleshooting Operating System irregularities as well as outages with utility applications residing on Operating system. Provides/leads second level support for system issues.. Investigates and assesses impact for system changes and enhancements. Assists in managing the maintenance and software currency on operating system release and patch levels by reviewing vendor communications and ensuring critical required patches are applied as appropriate to the operating system and/or utility applications. Opens trouble tickets if necessary for problem resolution and ensures timely responses, status updates and resolutions. Responds to trouble tickets and service requests assigned within published SLAs and ensures timely responses, status updates and resolutions and/or completions. Effectively communicates with outsourced vendor to obtain accurate technical assistance and information as needed to support operating system and utility applications. Anticipates disk and CPU requirements. Works with outsourcing vendor to procure hardware and peripherals as required supporting budgeted upgrades.
