Sorry, you're not going to get around THAT one. Basically, you have an Excel file (this login/logout file) that is taking over your CPU cycles every second to update the sheet.
If you open another Excel file, those silly people at Microsoft think that you want to WORK on the newly opened excel file and therefore give it the highest priority! Normally, the file you're WORKING on is more important than the one you're no longer paying attention to! which means that the OTHER processes are put into the "background". you MIGHT be able to change the windows priority and have it keep some measure of priority, but based on what I've come across, you're not going to keep it from doing that. Excel just wasn't intended to be used as a real-time clock. sorry, Paul ----------------------------------------- “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” - John Wesley ----------------------------------------- ________________________________ From: Indrajit $nai <talk2indra...@gmail.com> To: excel-macros@googlegroups.com Sent: Tue, February 19, 2013 5:12:33 PM Subject: Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Login and Logout time tracker...need help....
