I'm not sure what you mean.
You want to work on the FORMULA and NOT the VALUE?

Then what did you mean by "manually punching in numbers" ??
 
I guess we're going to have to have some sample data to work with.

Conditional format also works on value of cell & not on formula of cell.  

I want to work on formula insted.
