Comparing to Programming languages, application packages do have a long life.
Still, why do you worry, about the future of VBA. Softwares are born, evolve & become obsolete over a period of time. But software concepts, which have deep foundation in physical sciences & mathematics do have a long life. While software professionals spend their time and resources to learn softwares, but will not try to understand the concepts & fundamentals. The persons who (at least try to) understands the concepts & fundamentals of various softwares will not bother about the life span of a particular software. Also, You can't project the life span of a software, just like you can't assess the life span of your own life. So, enjoy the fun of softwares and also the life.
