Hi
Very Limited Knowledge of Excel as compared to most others. I use Excel
2003. What I did was to add another column with the formula
=text(C2,"mmmm") C2 is the date column. (I converted 05.04.2012 into a
proper date format first).
The above formula gave me a month like "April". Then used the regular
"Filter" to sort on the additional column created -- Month.
Most likely a longer method of solving the issue. CoRe's solution works
great. (And without the need to add any column).
Thanks

Dear Friends
Greetings for the day!
I have attached herewith one file in which three columns are
there. viz. 1) Doc. No. 2) Doc. Date & 3) Party Name
1) I would like to sort this file as per the serial doc. numbers
but unable to do. If we do the date wise sorting it takes day
wise only and not as month wise day wise.
2) As we are having some customer data in different excel file and
need to be gathered in a single file. But we can not do the
v-lookup use directly, as this file is having customer names along
with the places. And in other file we are having only names
without their places - At present we are doing it manually like :
we are sorting it customer wise and removing the place by using
edit function for a stockist and using copy-paste for that
particular stockist.
As approximately we are having 98 customers and it is very
difficult to do it manually.
Kindly help me out on this issue. Thank you.
*With regards,
