Ashish,

Yes this can be used for Windows 7. The only reason I thought Windows 7 users may not find it too useful is because Windows 7 start menu already has similar features which helps in quickly opening recent files.

No I haven't added a feature to delete history. For the time being, I think I should let people do that manually. But if there are requests from a people, I am happy to look at that also.

This can be easily installed / uninstalled. All you need to do is go to Excel Options >> Add-Ins >> Manage Excel Add-Ins >> Go >> Browse and Select the File and click OK

To uninstall, just come to the same browse window, and uncheck the add-in

    Hello Sam

Haven't yet installed this tool. I use Windows 7 (and I believe
this wouldnt be applicable for windows 7). Have seen the
screenshot. Looks good but have a couple of perhaps stupid questions.

    1. Can this file history be cleared ?
    2. Can this be un-installed ? (Which leads me to the very basic
question of how to install in the first place. Sorry, am a decent
user of Office Products, but not too advanced. This group goes a
long way in enhancing my skill sets though :-) )

    Thanks

Ever wished you could have all your recent Office files' MRU /
Most Recently Used / Recent link from Word, PowerPoint and Access
in the same place? Office 2010 has the recent folders list in the
Backstage view. But how about something similar in Excel 2007,
especially with the Win XP, and other pre-Windows 7 releases?

    *Chronos Twelve* (Chronos=Related to Time (recency);
Twelve=Office version 12.0) is an Excel based add-in that does
just about this. This is still in nascent stage of development,
and I will add enhancements as and when time permits. Feedback
and suggestions are welcome. You might find a bit odd behaviour
with the recent files OR the recent folders list due to some
special characters that I may have missed out to include in the
XML parser. However, in most cases, this should work just fine.

Also, since the MRU list for recent files in Excel 2007 will
already be visible in the default MRU list, I have not added this
in the custom list of this add-in.

I would be more than glad to hear your feedback on this tool.

    Regards
