Just select the columns ( D & E ) desired and use 
edit>replace      ~*          with (leave BLANK)

      Hi All
      I have a spreadsheet with 4000 row of records, I need to remove the 
character "*" in cells with date follow by "*". Can anyone provide a formula to 
remove this.
