Try this... Go to "tools" -- "options" -- select "Calculation" tab -- check on "manual" and make sure you check on "recalculate before save". this is going reduce the time taken by excel to calculate the formulae present in your sheet. hence increasing the performance. I'm sure that you have lot of formulae in your sheet :-)
