Without your file, I can't test this, but the XL did accept the following as a
valid formula:
=SUMIFS('1-Diary'!$H$9:$H9954,'1-Diary'!$B$9:$B9954,"<Today()",'1-Diary'!$J$9:$J9954,"HolidayN")
