Hi,

When you use filter excel only arranges the data according to the user
specified criteria whereas the original data remains the same.When you do
 delete entire rows the original data gets effected and gets deleted.If you
want to delete rows given by the filter after filtering select the required
data and press        "  Alt+; "  to select the visible cells only.IF you
delete the entire row after using this option your remaining data will not
be deleted.

You can also use colours to filter the text    "or "   use conditional
formating to format the data accoring to your specified condiatioin and then
use filter for your data for  more effective results.
