Try this code:

    ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 1").Activate     'For selecting the
chart
    ActiveChart.Legend.Select     'For selecting legend
    Selection.Interior.Color = vbRed     ' for coloring its interior
    Selection.Font.Color = vbBlue     'for coloring its font
    ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 1").Activate
