Without VBA, we can create a NAME of formula
(menu Insert >> Name >> Define


Name   Formatting
Refer to : =GET.CELL(7,INDIRECT("RC[-1]",FALSE))


in the worksheet 
a formula =Formatting 
will returns "text of formatting" of the previous cell


We can then manipulate the "Formatting text" ( fx:  "0.0000 Kg") to be "Kg"
