Once you change the mode of calculation in any file, Excel will use the same mode for all workbook opened subsequently.
Have you tried changing the mode with opening a new blank workbook ? If you want to set automatic mode for a specific workbook as default you can use the following code in ThisWorkbook - Private Sub Workbook_Open() Application.Calculation = xlCalculationAutomatic End Sub Hope this helps.
