Let's say you have two Excel files (workbooks) open. In the first workbook, you have some VBA code. You have the second workbook selected.
The Workbook that you have the code STORED in, is ThisWorkbook The one you have selected is the Active workbook. so, if you were to use: Thisworkbook.Sheets(1).Cells(1,1).value = Activeworkbook.Sheets(2).Cells(1,2).value You would be copying the contents of the second workbook, second sheet, Cell B1 to the first workbook, first sheet, Cell A1 WITHOUT SELECTING THE WORKBOOK, SHEET or CELL and without using the Clipboard, and there is no screen "flicker" It's VERY fast.
