Hi Martin,

You could try selecting only visible cells by pressing F5->Special->Visible
Cells Only.

Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Clearing data from a protected sheet

Hi

Hope this makes sense and I'm not posting wrong group but I've failed
on something I thought was going to be easy.

I have a large spreadsheet into which childrens test scores are added.
I have hidden columns which do some analysis of the scores and display
the results in an other visible column.

I have protected the sheet such that data can be added as the tests
are completed but the hidden formula cells can't be amended.

My problem occurs when I try to clear a selection of cells which span
the hidden, protected cells I get the usual message about unprotecting
the sheet first which defeats the objective of trying to prevent
accidental erasure of the formulea.

Is there any way of "ignoring" the protected cells to allow large
portions of data to be cleared quickly?

Thanks for any responses

Martin
