Depends on size of the company and complexity of operations the company in 
to, you can manage your  Fixed Assets details in Excel sheets which will 
serve the purpose of 

(a). Companies law - Statutory Audit

(b). Income Tax - Tax Audit 

(c). Annual physical verification.

When  you evaluate vendors, your need check all the above requirements 
fullfilled.
