If the spreadsheet is large, recalculation isn't something that happens quickly!

During Recalculation, if the user clicks inside of a cell, or hits the "escape"
key, or a variety of other things, then recalculation is suspended, the word
"Calculate" appears in the status bar, and Excel switches to Manual
recalculation.

Usually, if you hit F9, the sheet recalculates and the mode is set back to
automatic.

so, it could just be a case of an impatient user...

but then... Excel is a strange beast...

Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Settings in Excel - Calculation - Manual/Automatic

Hi,
I have come across instances where the calculation settings have got modified
from Calculation to Manual. I found this issue when my colleagues ask me why
there are not able to see results of a formula (when they drag the formula
down). My colleagues had no clue about this settings & so i am sure they did
not change the settings!!

Anyone with an explaination?

Regards
Rajesh
