But the problem will be that it will always convert to text. And date
functions will not work. The only way to work will be changing the format of
1000's of cells. You can select all cells in which data is there and in
which you want to put data together and just once you will need to change
the format. If you are using excel 2007 and you have some table type of
format for entering data, you can select all data and from insert tab click
on table. After you create a table, and if you set the format for all above
rows, it will automatically follow the above format and you will not need to
set format again and again. I am using the same thing in a tables with
thousands of rows, it works fine and in my case format is more difficult to
set again and again, but in this way it works well.
