Pete, threading is there and working as expected, been using Discourse for a while and threading is properly working. At this point, for any further question, I'd suggest you to open a new topic under [1] so that everyone can help you and anyone else on this list getting what they're looking for. As I mentioned a lot of users joined during the past few days and there's been a lot of good discussion on how to build proper workflows to properly replace Mailman. You have good points which I'm confident will benefit everyone on the Discourse platform.
