I most frequently send  jpgs or pdfs.    The hangs are pretty much
evenly split between the two.
Size is all over the map, so I would say no to size.    I've seen hangs
on files as small as 15KB to as largeas 7MB ( yes,  email so I try not
to send anything beyond 9MB as most recipients I deal with have a
10MBcut off or quarantine)
