Hello John What do you mean by "One of the recipients returned read"? That seems the bit that apparently happens to be different.
Also note that I expect all messages to be transmitted correctly. As you are using IMAPX, you will be sending the messages using SMTP. Then, evolution stores a copy of what it sent (and removes drafts if needed).
