are you sure you've 3.28.3 of Evolution? And more importantly also
3.28.3 of evolution-data-server, please? It's not enough to just have
it installed, especially in case of evolution-data-server, you need to
re-login or reboot the machine, thus the updated bits are run, instead
of the old bits, which had been started before the update.
The "code enter issue" had been fixed for 3.28.3 version within:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=795997
Unless it regressed again.
