Hi,
it sounds known and fixed for IMAP long time ago. If I'm not mistaken,
then moving to a different folder and back will show those "missing"
messages. Eventually when right-clicking the folder and picking Refresh
there.
I do not have any exact commit reference (the fix would go into
evolution-data-server), there is a really big gap between 3.18.5
(released 2016-02-15) and the previous stable version 3.24.7 (released
2017-10-02), where I believe the fix already is, not talking about the
current stable version 3.26.4 (released 2018-01-08).
