Understand your frustration.. But I see an issue has been created for this..

It says: "Failed to connect address book.." and the name of the address book. 
And the error message says: "No response: Cancelled"
I configured the account using Evolution.
Will try to recreate the account later..

Yes, that sounds similar. But I also have a problem that I do not see new 
recieved email for a folder until I restart Evolution, this happens
sometimes..
