Run Evolution from the command line to see what's happening when you do the double click (it's a start, but I'm not actually sure it will say anything!) > When I use the Evolution import tool, the filetype > selection is greyed out and 'stuck' on Outlook Express Personal Folder. Select a .ics file and the filetype will change. Seems opposite to what happens with other applications where the file selection is filtered according to the filetype selected, but there you go.
