        Hi,
see the message source (CTRL+U) and check the message structure. Any
Content-Type, Content-Disposition headers denote separate parts. The
Content-Disposition may also contain "attachment", to denote that the
part is actually an attachment.

As a wild guess, do you try to remove an attachment from a signed or
encrypted message? Especially the later might not work, because it
would decrypt it. With the signed messages, the signature would be
invalidated by the attachment removal, notably when also the
attachments are signed.
