Except that the versions of the applications in older distros will still have bugs that are fixed in later versions (nor will bugs be fixed if new ones are discovered) and they will be lacking features and improvements. We all (I hope) understand about Enterprise / LTS versions and the stability they bring, but the downside is that the solution to many problems is "that is fixed in a later version".
