You don't give your version of Evolution... The error is a bug in evolution-data-server prior to 3.12 and was discussed in relation to the POODLE SSL issue last October (it helps to search archives sometimes). See, for instance, https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2014-October/msg00113.html The solution for versions prior to 3.12 is to use STARTTLS instead of SSL. If you can't use STARTTLS, then you will need to upgrade to a version of Evolution that doesn't have the bug.
