The right answer depends on what kind of mail accounts you're talking about. For IMAP, leaving all mail on the server means you don't need to back it up (contacts and calendar info is another matter). For POP, you will have to physically back up files from your machine, but Evo 3.4 is quite old so I don't recall the layout. In any case, there's a File->Backup Evolution Data option which creates a tar file of your local data. Back that up and then try to restore it on the new system.
