Greetings, I am not a regular on this evolution email list but I had a problem much like yours. If you have access to the archives for this list I sent an email describing my procedure that I used on 8/7/2012. I was migrating from a Fedora system with evolution 2.24.5 to another machine using Fedora 17 evolution 3.4.3.
My problem was I was doing a sort merge on mail at the same time. But I think it would work for migration as well. I have been told that if you just leave the data as is and start the new version it will convert. I don't have any real reason to believe it. But I did around that time make it work for me. >From a machine which appeared to be dying a hardware related death to a new machine. Let me know if I can help.
