P.S.: as the last thing in this part, I would try to move away
/usr/lib{64}/evolution/2.28/modules/libevolution-module-network-manager.so
and start evolution. Whether it'll make any difference. Though if you
can do things you said you can above, then this may not change much, if
anything at all.
