Is it in the normal format - i.e. like Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2011 22:47:59 +1000 I presume the Out.mbx file is where sent things are stored? If so, have you imported it as the Sent Items or is it a different folder? If you copy a message into the folder does the date appear correctly? Perhaps it might be useful for you to let us see the headers of a message that isn't working properly (i.e. do Ctrl-U and copy and paste headers) - obviously remove any personal info first.
