I stared experiencing the exact same behavior, suddenly after approximately 4 pm (EST) yesterday. In the folder list frame, the Inbox folder is bold and the there indicates a number of new messages. However, when the inbox folder is selected, the messages list frame is completely empty. All sub-folders of the inbox are working properly. After un-subscribing and then re-subscribing to my inbox and sub folders then restarting evolution, everything was working as expected fro about 20 minutes until my inbox messages became inaccessible again. I also use fastmail.fm as my email host. I'm using evolution 2.22.3.1. Accessing my gmail account via evolution works without issue. > http://live.gnome.org/Evolution/FAQ#I_cannot_see_some_emails.2C_but_they_must_be_there. >From the link above: > You use filters on incoming (or outgoing) messages that move your > messages automatically to another destination. While this is true, I don't filter all messages out of my inbox folder. This was not an issue before 4 pn (EST) yesterday and the re-subscribing did fix the issue temporarily. I'm going to make a determination that this is not the problem. > Check your search view in the search bar right above the message list. > Perhaps the "Show" dropdown list is set to any filter like "Read > Messages", or the text input filed contains some value. I double checked, intentionally altered and reset the values in the "show" dropdown and search bar to no effect. > > If you cannot see any emails at all in a folder, check if you haven't > maximized the message preview (so the message list pane is hidden). > Try to click "View | Preview | Show Message Preview". I removed the message preview frame when inbox is selected in the folder list frame to no effect on the issue. > > Just to be sure: Click "Edit | Show Hidden Messages". Fair enough. I'm now sure that the messages are not hidden in this manner but inaccessible for some other reason. > > Take a look into Evolution's Junk folder. Messages that are marked as > Junk disappear from the original folder and are only displayed in the > Junk folder. The junk folder displays 4 messages since 4pm (EST) yesterday and none of the messages in the inbox prior to 4pm (EST) yesterday. Of the 4 messages, they seem to be properly marked as spam. > > Check your default folder under "Edit | Preferences | Email Accounts | > Edit | Defaults". Perhaps it is set to some other folder then the > folder you thought of. I checked the defaults for this account. The settings seem to effect the draft and sent folders. There is no option that appears to effect the inbox. Any other suggestions? I've checked fastmail's systems status site to see that they recently had a problem with IMAP for certain customers. They indicated that the problem was fixed 2 days ago. I've filed a ticket with fastmail.fm. _______________________________________________ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
