The location of the Sent folder for each account is configurable (under
Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts-><account>->Defaults) so if you had
changed it before updating your system, check that the value you set is
still valid.

Also, some people configure the Sent folder to live on a server (as part
of their IMAP account for example). If that's your case, make sure the
server is still accessible.
