Ah, OK.  Told you that I know nothing about Ubuntu.  :-)

So Vijay should be asking on the Ubuntu forums about Evo 2.30, not here
since it is largely nothing to do with Evo that Ubuntu shipped with 2.28
and not 2.30 - it is really up to the distro to deal with the fall out
from that decision. 

All I can say to the original question is that I've been using Evo since
1.x days and it has upgraded seamlessly every time without any form of
manual intervention.
