Hi, I just faced the similar issue, while "testing" ConnMan code when this is not installed, and it helped me to remove corresponding files (in the name is either network-manager or connman) from $PREFIX/lib/evolution/2.30/modules so this part isn't loaded on start and evolution doesn't care. Sort of hack, but helps to make it work quickly, without recompiling whole evolution (and I suppose I would remove those files by hand anyway, even when not compiled). Only note they might be returned on reinstall/update of your evolution.
