It kills evolution-data-server, plus it forces Evo itself to exit even when it doesn't want to (Evo can hang for a long time trying to quit because it's trying to update folder status on a slow remote server). This can mean that e.g. some read or deleted or moved messages don't show as read or deleted or moved next time you start Evo.
