Are you in the actual folder for the newsgroup or are you in some vfolder that contains the newsgroup? I have found in the latter case, the message won't actually post to the newsgroup, despite the Post-To: field having the newsgroup name in it. To post to usenet, I always first make sure I am viewing the actual folder for the newsgroup (i.e. in the newsgroup account folder name) and then post from there. It's a pain, but it works. b.
