You seem to have a misconception about the function of EDS. EDS is simply the resident backend of the Evolution client, running on behalf of a specific user. It runs when you run Evo (and generally stays running for the rest of your session). It has nothing to do with mail routing or providing mail service to other users or machines, i.e. it is not an MTA. In conclusion, you don't need to do anything special to configure or run EDS.
