        I just found this via Folder -> Properties.  I checked it, because I
        didn't realize this existed.  I think that what I installed was a 
        separate plugin ---  what it was called has long been forgotten, but it 
        was anoying*=10000.  It was a minor reason I stopped using evolution.
        (Right now, I've got evo running and am waiting for new mail ... so I
        can pounce:)

        Found it (Edit -> Plugins); found the notification string, and 
configured
        it.  A few seconds later, the other evo plugin popped up for a couple
        seconds, then vanished leaving a small envelope icon that kept blinking.
        Do you--or anybody else--know what that plug in is called.  I gotta get
        rid of that one!
