I don't know much about SuSE, never having used it, but typically major backports like this are NOT done for distros. If you don't want to wait for an update, you can always build Evolution from source. I have a makefile that will do it for you; see: http://mad-scientist.us/evolution.html You will need to make sure various development packages are installed on your system, and I won't be able to help much since I'm not a SuSE user.
