re-install should not make a difference . Backup your mail folder -
".evolution", and "evolution" both .

if ".evolution" folder exists , Reset the configuration and blow up
"evolution" folder . Next, reset gconf key for evolution

        gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/evolution 

Hopefully this should have evolution migration wizard going .
