Hm,
this made me look again and find something interesting:
I normally set the GC server as a number, an IP address. Then I get
exactly the symptoms of the first poster.
I just tried substituting the name (In a CVS version, ~ 2.9.2),
and can no longer see the global address list at all in the contacts
view.
However, in the calendar view a shared calendar to which I subscribe
suddenly appeared.
So I can choose - calendars, or addresses, but not both. And either
way I cannot see other users calendars.
