Hi, I think while removing/disabling the old account gconf sync. didn't happen properly. To remove the old accounts folders from Contacts and Calendar components, you need to remove them from apps/evolution/[addressbook/calendar/tasks] using gconf editor.
For GAL folder not appearing issue, please run evolution-exchange-storage from console and see if there are any log messages printed. 2.4.x has many issues, which are fixed in 2.6.x. If possible, it is better to use 2.6.x version. Thanks, Sushma.
