I'm having the same problem. I raised it in this forum, and Poornima
Nayak answered it (Dec. 21). His reply was:

This is a work-around, not a solution. This work-around has to be
repeated every now and then, because these settings seem to be forgotten
now and then.
An alternative to the above is to click the "revert" button in the
defaults tab.
