Sure, click the small triangle at the left, next to the Subject in the mail list... ;-) Seriously, there is no way to collapse all threads in one fell swoop, unfortunately. I believe this already is filed in bugzilla. Gets asked for quite often, too. Maybe this should be pushed [1] to be done for 2.6. Any takers?
