Did it make you wonder, why your accounts where remembered nonetheless?
Removing ~/.evolution will get rid of the IMAP cache, but it will not
change anything of your mail configuration.

The "IMAP" and "IMAP4" Shreayas was referring to are the server types
used in Evo (The "receiving email" "server type" of the mail account)
and actually are called "IMAP" and "IMAP4rev1".

FWIW, "IMAP" implements the "IMAP4" or "IMAP version 4" protocol. The
server type "IMAP4rev1" Implements the "IMAP4 revision 1" protocol.
According to a quick google search MDAEMON supports IMAP4 -- I would
have been surprised if not anyways. ;)

I don't see how re-installing the OS will help here at all. Please don't
do this.
