Since my graduate notes are presently inaccessible, I will likely have some errors in what I am about to write. IIRC, we can use S's equation with known bouundary values to calculate the wf for a particular problem. This wf is a mathematical function. Then, to get the probability, we must take its inner product with the superposition of states, and square the norm. But the superposition of states has unknown complex multiplicative parameters, so how can this procedure give us a real positive number less than one as the probability of measuring a specific eigenvalue? How do we know what the eigenvalues are? What is the error in this procedure? AG
